"Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self"

-  The Bhagavad Gita

Who I Am…

I am a momma, wife, teacher, yoga lover, fitness buff, outdoor enthusiast, beach fan, world explorer, sunshine chaser, hot tea devotee, smoothie addict, potato chip junkie, candle connoisseur, essential oil aficionado, fresh air fanatic, neat freak, plant and flower fiend, and sunrise/sunset lover.

How I Got Here…

I am a former elementary school teacher who started practicing yoga in 2002 using online podcasts during naptimes after my first child was born.  Yoga ebbed and flowed in my daily routine for years, but as I found life become exceedingly chaotic with three children, I realized the importance of making time for myself to reset the body, the mind and the soul.  Health and fitness are constants in my life with a focus on running and yoga to elevate the external and internal body.  Learning and observing how yoga cultivated and nourished me, I knew I needed to delve further into the practice.  In 2019 I embarked on an 8 month yoga teacher training journey at Yoga Off East under the guidance of Kathryn Smith, where I received my 200-hour yoga teacher certificate in Vinyasa Flow Yoga.  Knowing that we are never finished learning yoga, I am constantly striving to explore, investigate and study different aspects of yoga, it’s history, and how to help others bring yoga into their lives.  I believe that through asana, pranayama, and meditation we can be our best selves by calming our mind, healing our soul and strengthening our body.

A Work In Progress...

I remain a work in progress, always striving to release my fear of judgement and need to be perfect.  I continue to look for ways to find faith and confidence in my self.  I will never be complete in my yoga practice.  It is a continual process of learning and growing.  I love the journey of self discover yoga offers me.

Why Yoga…

I practice yoga to help guide me toward presence and grounding; to live in the moment and worry less about the future or past; to cultivate and nourish my mind, my body, and my soul through asana, pranayama, and meditation; to learn who my authentic true self is and what is important to me; to connect within and with others in community on a deeper level, instead of living life on the surface; and to live a life that allows me to be more fully awake and more fully alive.

Why Teach…

I teach yoga to offer others an opportunity to find a sense of inner calm and peace; to help others discover ways to nourish and cultivate who they are, how they feel, and what they think; and to offer a moment of presence in a world of chaos.  I teach to share this beautiful and amazing practice of yoga that has been handed down for thousands of years, through generations of teachers.  There is more to yoga then simply moving the body and I want to continue this journey with you...together...in community.
